Mit Lancer CS3 2-DIN MOD

D.I.Y Single DIN to Double DIN Conversion MOD

I bought this kit from eBay UK, cost SG$108

Brought this Single DIN Centre Bottom Bracket from JapanParts, cost SG$70

This is Mit Lancer CS3 stock Single DIN Fascia

Remove the HU with removal key, unplug all cables
Pull out the 3 a/c knobs, unscrew 2 hidden screw and pull out the Fascia
Unscrew other 2 screws for bottom centre bracket and remove the bracket

Needed tools.
1) Brush - Clear the dust
2) Saw - To cut the a/c knob
3) File & sandpaper - To make nice and clean cutting edge
4) Cloth - To protect the Fascia from scratches

Firstly, remove the Label Sticker with care

Not thinking so much, I made my 1st cut on the Right

2nd cut on the left, which made the stock Fascia into 2 pieces

3rd cut, on the Right a/c Fascia

4th cut, on the left a/c Fascia

5th cut, on the top of a/c Fascia

Shack! Rest for awhile and do some filing to the 3 cut side, make sure all sides are straight

6th cut, on the bottom of a/c Fascia

Now, the shape is OUT. So file file file and use sandpaper to polish polish polish

And DONE on the a/c Fascia

Take the Bottom Centre Single bracket, put the a/c Fascia and continue to do fine filing

Once done with all the filing, brush and clean up the a/c Fascia and put back the Label Sticker

NOW, is time to go back to car and install the long await a/c panel.
(Spent 4hrs relocating the a/c controller + securing the Fascia)

Done with a/c, now the Double DIN Fascia!

Metal bracket of HU. (JapanParts does not provide this bracket but eBay UK doesn't look stock)

Time for HU.

I put back my Single DIN first, now starting to hunt for DVD HU lobang.

The back cover was a sponge came together with 2DIN Fascia, dunno for wat so I use it to cover the empty pocket first
